1 - Tyler B - Inside Out

JOY- Steph (Life Is Strange)

Steph enjoys a lot of the same things I do, and is very similar to me. She is very joyful when she is doing what she loves, even if it may seem like work or weird to others, she doesn’t care. I feel the same about a lot of the things I do, many people see running as hard or boring, while I do it because I find a sort of peace and calm in it. I also enjoy life so much more with music and love playing music, and want to be a radio host when I get older. She is also a character that goes from this very quite and somewhat reserved person to a very open and expressive person, which some of that I see in myself, but to a bit of a lesser extent.

SADNESS-  Scorpia (She-Ra)

Though in the show she is a very happy and joyful character. When she does get sad it affects her a lot and makes her think about her actions and the actions of others that led to this point, and is very self-conscious, something I can relate to. When I get sad I tend to reflect on the things I did to get here and also am very self-conscious about a lot of things about myself. And that feeling is doubled when I get sad, I start to doubt that I can do anything, and get very critical of myself and the things I do and the way I act.

FEAR- Catra (She-Ra)

Though at first glace she doesn’t exactly seem like a very fearful person, but the further you get into the show the more you realize how scared she is of being alone and betrayed, which is something everyone can relate to on some level, but I feel it sticks out to me more. She lives her life constantly afraid that people will not care about her or want to be with her, which is something I feel alot of the time even though it is not true. Living in fear of someone not feeling the same way you do is something that has always scared me, in the same way it scares Catra, which does sometimes lead to me making choices I regret. Like not going out with friends and instead staying up in my room, which leads to the fear of being alone and makes me think that people would enjoy life so much more if I wasn’t in their life. Something I think relates between me and Catra in the show.

ANGER- Arthur Shelby (Peaky Blinder)

Arthur is a very emotional character, which in a show like this doesn’t mean good things for you. When he gets angry, it’s not very passive or hidden, it’s very aggressive and outspoken, something I tend to do too. When I get angry, I tend to just push things down untilit gets to a breaking point which then leads to very emotional and hurtful outbursts, both to me and the people around me. And after all that comes out, there is no easy way for me to put it away, so I end up thinking a lot of things I shouldn’t, which Arthur tends to do a lot as well, only difference is I don’t act on any of those thoughts. Arthur is a very emotional person, but most of those emotions lead to anger and hate if someone says the wrong thing, I can get the same way sometimes. Depending on how I’m feeling that day all it could take is one person saying the wrong thing for me to be angry for the rest of the day.

DISGUST-  Handsome Jack (Borderlands 2)

Ignoring the other great parts about his character. The way Jack expresses himself when it comes to things that he finds gross or disgusting is very comedic, something I tend to do, though on accident. Whenever I am disgusted by something I either make jokes about it, or react in such a way that becomes funny. Acting very satirical and overplaying my reactions is something I do a lot, especially when I am grossed out, I do it as a way to pull attention away from the gross feeling by making myself or others laugh. Something Jack does too when he interacts with the main characters, considering they are disgusting to him, so he tends to make them the butt of his jokes, something I tend to do espcially with food I do not like.

  1. Your diction makes it easy to understand how you relate to the characters you're writing about, I was also able to learn something new and interesting about you! Overall, great job and I enjoyed reading this :)

  2. This is easily the most diverse cast of voices so far, from shows, cartoons, and videogames, if you had something from a book I’d say you checked out nearly all the boxes from mediums of entertainment. I really enjoyed the choice of Handsome Jack as it just fits so well, a smug jerk with a god complex really does sum up a feeling of disgust against nearly everything

  3. From being around you when you are with your little brother, I agree with your anger. Although Josh does deserve it most of the time you are a very outspoken emotional person when arguing.
