I Am From Poem
I am from a caring Mom and Dad,
from a room that is decently sized,
filled with Beyblades.
I am from a neighborhood (so quiet
you can hear the chirps from birds
and the buzzing of insects).
I am from a backyard filled with flowers,
the greenest grass in the world.
I am from matt black Ray Bans,
a heavy backpack filled with textbooks.
I am from a family that is hard working,
to get what we desire.
I am from the Vuong family.

That feeling you encapsulated of just being, like the idea that you only need to perceive the immediate space around you. No hassles of whether or not some dictator somewhere is going to nuke some other obscure area, just being content. It’s important to focus on what life has laid out for you at the exact moment, whether it be the green green grass of home, or Beyblades in your room.
ReplyDeleteI relate to a lot of this poem. Growing up my parents were very caring and my room was decently sized too, though you’d have to swap Bayblades for Pokemon, and a flower filled backyard with weed covered and dusty backyard. I still relate to this poem at a very high level.
