Chainsaw Man Characters
(I don’t know enough real-life people so I had to go with manga characters ;w;)
JOY - Power
Power is one of the few joyful characters in Chainsaw Man, and tries her best to make people happy. When someone she is close to is going through a hard time, Power puts in her best effort to cheer them up. She’s also a funny character who does dumb things that are probably the only form of non-dark humor in the manga.
SADNESS - Aki Hayakawa
Aki is a devil hunter who went through a hard time after losing one of his close partners. He knows what it is like to lose someone and does his best to protect Denji and Power, who are like family to him. Aki eventually chooses to sacrifice his own life to prevent further deaths of his close friends.
FEAR - Kobeni Higashiyama
Kobeni is a devil hunter who wants to quit her job. She fears a lot of things and doesn’t like to be in dangerous situations, which makes her unfit for her job. Kobeni is often seen crying or sweating (she is drawn like this to show that she is scared) and is rarely seen with a bright smile throughout the manga. Denji also traumatized her further in his Chainsaw Man form at the end of the manga.
ANGER - Denji
Denji is the main character of Chainsaw Man and gets especially angry in his Chainsaw Man form. He protects those who are close to him, and becomes loud and violent when he is fighting someone he doesn’t like or has done something bad to him or his friends. As a person, Denji has good morals and is kind. However, he will do whatever it takes to protect things that are important to him, even if it means killing a loved one to put an end to things.
DISGUST - Makima
Makima is the antagonist for the first part of Chainsaw Man. Her main goal is to create a perfect world by erasing all evil from existence. She is disgusted by all the chaos and sins that humanity has created and decides to put an end to it. Some examples of events that she has erased from existence are World War II and the Black Plague.

ReplyDeleteThis was a very nice read! I love the thorough character analysis you've applied into the writing. I'm very intrigued by the specific descriptions of these characters and their personalities, and I feel inspired to take a look at this manga! Although for next time, I suggest that you incorporate some facts about yourself and how you relate to your characters :)
