Practicing something is often seen as tedious by a lot of people, and it’s true. It takes time, patience, and knowledge to be able to practice efficiently. In my own time, I practice the violin, and sometimes the piano. Playing an instrument may look easy, but it requires a lot of effort and skill to be able to play it well.
During my practice time, you would hear me run scales, focusing on intonation and tone. When I’m lazy, I play through pieces that I like and then move on with my day. Other days I would actually practice for 1-3 hours, working on specific parts of my music.
Practicing itself can be tedious and boring, but you as the musician have to make it fun for yourself. For me, I like to keep the room a little dark to create a comfortable, cozy atmosphere for myself. I also like to sight read, as it keeps me interested in what I’m doing.
Not only does “practice make perfect,” but it also helps you find out more about yourself.

I have to fully agree that practice helps you find out more about yourself. Your two different ways to practice, one during a normal time and one when you're feeling lazy, clearly illustrates that practice doesn't have to just be something you're fully focused on. Making practice fun is the one thing most people, like myself, have problems doing, so that line really emphasizes how practice can be different.
