Why Aang's Power In Avatar: The Last Airbender Is More Terrifying Than You Think

Avatar: The Last Airbender' theory solves a sad mystery about Katara

JOY- Aang Avatar: the Last Airbender

The character Aang perfectly fits the inner joy in my mind because of the way his child-like personality is similar to mine. He finds a way to be entertained through the most boring of times and enjoys the time spent with friends. Although there are many factors that could potentially contribute to a downward spiral on Aang’s mental health, he continuously finds the positive factors out of negative situations, which is a common trait we both obtain.

SADNESS- Katara Avatar: the Last Airbender

Katara could play the role of sadness in my head because of the traumatic experiences she has been through. She has encountered a lot of heartbreak throughout her young life, which has developed her personality into a sensitive state. Like me, she tries her best to be the best version of herself through hard times but is left wondering if she is ever enough.

FEAR- Sokka Avatar: the Last Airbender

Sokka is the definition of fear, but masked with a brave persona, which is why he would be perfectly casted as fear in my head. He has a lot of weaknesses bestowed upon him which causes him to be fearful of any dangers in his path. Sokka tends to put on this facade that he is confident, strong, and can protect others from harms’ way, but he is simply the opposite. Like me, although his confidence is disguising his fearfulness you can still see right through the act.

Taylor's Version — Why I Love Avatar The Last Airbender So Much...

ANGER- Zuko Avatar: the Last Airbender

Zuko, a young man full of anger, could perfectly portray the role of anger in my head. Zuko has been pushed aside his whole life, and has been proven that he is not worthy of anything in his life. Similar to me, he has a lot of hurt and sadness that progressively builds up over time and releases it all after a small argument. That anger blows up because of the helplessness he feels. He is constantly trying to prove to family that he can be something amazing, but is constantly shut down. No one understands him. Not even when he tries to change for the better.

DISGUST- Toph Avatar: the Last Airbender

Toph is a feisty character who always speaks her mind which is the reason for her casting as disgust in my mind. She constantly raises her voice when she doesn’t agree with something, which is a negative trait we both have. Similarly we both are strongly opinionated and speak up when it is simply not needed. Toph isn’t afraid to hold back when something isn’t right. She’ll say it how it is no matter the situation.

  1. I really love the fact that you used characters from Avatar: The Last Airbender. I only watched it when I was younger. My brother, on the other hand, is a HUGE fan of the series. I like the reasoning behind your choices. You described each character well, and I think the way you explained them was to the point and coherent. The simple diction that you used in your blog post gave me a sense of comfort. Good work!
