6-Krishna C: Acceptence

If there is one thing I wish older generations could learn from my own, it would be acceptance. Accepting people's differences.

I wish I could teach older generations to see past skin color as a social status, an image of their trustworthiness, or their integrity. I want them to understand that I am still a person, who goes through life just like everyone else. I may look different, but I am still a person.

I wish I could teach older generations to accept people with different sexualities. They are no different than everyone else, they are people the same way I am. Their choice is their choice the same why mine is my own. Nobody can take that from them.

I wish I could teach older generations that there are many different paths to becoming successful now. Many more than when they were when they were growing up. Now with the internet, people can make a life from almost anything all it takes is a chance. Just because they are new and could be uncomfortable paths, does not make it any less of a choice. Sometimes to be successful you need to take risks.

I wish that older generations would be more accepting of the new walks of life added to today's world, change isn’t a bad thing. Without change, we never grow.

  1. I agree with this completely! I myself am a person who is all about accepting others for who they are and what they do as long as they are not harming anyone. Even if older generations don’t completely understand why certain things now are the way they are, they should at least respect and accept that those things exist. I also like that you mentioned internet success. People who use the internet as a way to be successful (for example, TikTok) do not have any less value just because their way to success is different from the “typical” way. Internet celebrities receive a lot of unnecessary hate. Life is filled with different choices, mindsets, and appearances. Society needs to be more mindful of diversity; it would be unrealistic and pointless if every person was similar. I appreciate how your short blog post has many great points to touch on!

  2. I love the poetic tone of this blog. As someone who is born into a family with very traditional thinking and refuses to change, I agree with you. It’s the lack of adjustment to the current external environment. However, this certainly doesn’t justify their prejudice against certain people. Overall, this was a very nice read, thank you for sharing :)

  3. I feel like this speaks very true, but also applies to younger people too. Everyone is so quick to only accept people they think should accepted, but if everyone was more accepting of other views and didn’t dismiss them so easily, the world would be a lot better, in my opinion.
